Object remarks: NRM 8995 and 8996 previously in one jar. NRM 8995 later in exhibition gallery, but labeled 8996. Exhibition specimen returned to collection about 1980, but with erroneous data. Still only one fish (=NRM 8996) in collection jar in 1995 + a label announcing 3 additional specimens from Nice - also missing. In 2004 collection data for both lots corrected and name updated from Scyllium stellare /EIÅ, 2004.
Locality remarks: Maybe from the Lovén & Sandahl expedition to Sicilia, Egypt, and Algeria 1858.
