SYNTYPE Silurus glanis Linnaeus, 1758
Object remarks: Possibly a syntype of Silurus glanis Linnaeus; but Fernholm & Wheeler (1983:282-283) conclude non-type status. Erroneously as LP 62a by F&W). Oldest label by Dalman (1828 or earlier): which indicate the existence of a now lost Quensel label. Obviously identical with the note in Quensel's Catalogue (probably added by Quensel 1801 or later): <[Silurus] fossilis? Bl. t. 370. e Mus. Drtnghl. Numeris cirrosa differre videtur;->. Seems to have arrived from Drottningholm without a label. Probably examined by Linnaeus but not mentioned in Linnaeus 1754, 1758, or 1764. /EIÅ, 2011
