Object remarks: Not type. Does not agree in length or counts with description in Pallas (1770). Identification confirmed with Murdy's revision (1989)/SOK Labels by Quensel 'Gobius schlosseri 1201 Amboina Ipsiss.' Dalman 'Gobius Schlosseri. Amboina. Prototypon', Andersson etc. Catalogued by Quensel (1800): 'Gobius schlosseri Lin. 1201- Bonnat: l.cit. pl. 35 fig. 139 - qua melior quam Pallas Spic. Zool. Fasc. 8 p. 3 tab. 1 f. 1-2[?] Hab: ad Amboinam.-'. In Quensels appendix: this specimen is named Gobius niger in Hornstedt-s Catalogue 1788. EIÅ, 2009 Agrees well with figure in Pallas and origin in Schlosser's collection /EIÅ, 2010
