Object remarks: Label by Dalman's hand: /Syngnathus pelagicus/. In Dalman's catalogue (1828) is listed one lot with two specimens; Swartz (1809) lists a single lot with one specimen in ethanol; Quensel (1800) lists: /Syngnathus pelagicus Lin. 1455 Bl. 4-5. t. 109 f. 4. Hab. ad Cap. b. Sp. in fuco natante & mare Caspico./; Hornstedt (1788) list /Syngnathus pelagicus/ as present in the collection. If this specimen originates from Osbeck - which is unlikely - it has type status. Type locality for Syngnathus pelagicus Linnaeus 1758 is about 22 N 36 W, not the Carribean, through referens to Osbeck. /EIÅ, 2008. Origin Schlosser or Drottningholm; no type status. /EIÅ, 2015
