SYNTYPE Cottus grunniens Linnaeus, 1758
Object remarks: Labels: Dalman (Cottus grunniens), L.G.Andersson (Raniceps trifurcus (Ray.) 5633. Gamla saml. utan ang. lokal etikett: Cottus grunniens 1 ex.). Specimen re-identified by Fernholm & Wheeler (1983) as Raniceps raninus and syntype of Cottus grunniens. Specimen data, however, incompatible with description of C. grunniens./SOK, 2013 No type status or putative paralectotype. An origin from Museum Adolfi Friderici can not be entirely excluded /EIÅ, 2013
