Object remarks: Two intact specimens, hind part from two specimens, and 10 heads. Reidentified from 'Elops saurus' based on geographic origin/SIL 1997.
Locality remarks: Original label 'Gangeni Mahneli, Sep 1953' possibly misspelt here. Association with Tamil Nadu, India somewhat speculative. Olsson worked in a field station of University of Anamalay in the area of Porto Novo in 1953 (pers. comm., 18 Mar 1997)/SIL, 1997. Closest hit in NIMA GEOnet is Manali, a populated place at 10.35 N 79.39 E /EIÅ, 1997. Country and province thus uncertain, need research.
