SYNTYPE Blennius mustelaris Linnaeus, 1758
Object remarks: Type specimen for Blennius mustelaris Linnaeus; labels: Ulriksdal (Blennius mustelaris), Dalman, Smitt, and Bergström. Specimen tentatively identified as 'Clinus superciliosus' by Fernholm & Wheeler (1983: 263-265). See also NRM 35 and 4729. #54 in UUZM has possibly the same provenance since it was a dublicate, and if so NRM 135 antedates 1745. Maybe collected in Cape Town by the Dutch East India Company before 1745? /EIÅ, 2007 & 2018
Locality remarks: Specimen(s) with printed Ulriksdal-label from 1765 or before - 'Drottningholm-label', and not associated with known collector, geographic origin, etc.; cf. Fernholm & Wheeler (1983:203-204). Moved from Ulriksdal to Drottningholm in 1773 and to the Academy (KVA, later NRM) 16-20 Jun 1801. Collection examined by Linnaeus 4 times.
