Object remarks: Fish lost their scales. Photograph exists. Local name: Singida (the species transplanted from this lake a few decades ago). Specimens measured for SL, head length, preorbital depth, intraorbital width, and spines and rays of the dorsal fin to find out possible hybridization with O. rukwaensis.
Locality remarks: Collectors also: B P Mapunda, S Mwendapole. Date: 23-24 Feb 1993. Bought at landing. Fishing performed offshore. Gear: gill-net and hook and line. Turbid water. Lake without outlet. Altitude 820masl. Colour grey, turbidity high. Human influence slight.
