Object remarks: This species is endemic to Tanzania. However, the collected samples was mixed with other species "Phrynobatrachus natalensis" which has a wider distribution. 8 of the individuals belonging to the other species, was listed as NRM 8575.

Object remarks: these individuals were listed as P. krefftii under NRM 1783. Morphological characteristics and distribution shows that this individuals belongs to P. natalensis.
