Object remarks: Listed by L.G. Andersson (1899) p. 9. Previous labels from Ulriksdal, Dalman, and Andersson. One additional syntype in UUZM (# 41) cf. Wallin, 1991: 227. A third syntype figured in Seba. Two additional specimens (most probably non-types) mentioned in Hornstedt's, Quensel's and Swartz' catalogues present in 2006 (cf. NRM 902, 904) + one juvenile (in NRM 902), possibly overlooked by all three. All archival material filed together. All availbale data confirms type status. Name updated from Coluber plicatilis. /EIÅ, 2006.
Locality remarks: Dates (material descr. by Linnaeus) predates 1754. Originally at Ulriksdals Castle. Transferred from Drottningholm Castle to KVA [=later NRM] in 1801.
