PARALECTOTYPE Rana ocellata Linnaeus, 1758
Object remarks: Probably to be included in the original type serie. Linnaeus (1758) refers to Browne, 1756 only, but the description in Mus Ad Frid II is most likely finished (cf. Lacerta umbra). Maybe collected by Dahlberg. However, printed Ulriksdal label: /Rana/ only with a pencil label added: /Ocellata./. Lectotype (Browne illustration) and neotype USNM 251390 (Jamaica) designated by Lavilla et al, 2010. Additional labels by Dalman, Smitt and Andersson./EIÅ, 2016
Locality remarks: Collection built up from about 1743. Including material collected by Löfling, Hasselqvist, Brander etc. A minor part from the Seba Collection. Material described and published by Linnaeus in Museum Adolphi Fiderici in 1754 and 1764. Originally at Ulriksdals Castle. Transferred from Drottningholm Castle to KVA in 1801/EIÅ, 2015 And to NRM in 1841/1848 /EIÅ, 2023
