Object remarks: NRM 12669-12671 previously in one jar. Lectotype designated by F. Wayne King in Florida State Museum Publications 1961. Oldest label from Dalman: "Gecko sputator Cuv. Merr. Lac. sputator Sparrm.".
Locality remarks: "Herr Doctorn och Probsten Acrelius, hvilken, under sit vistande i Philadelphia, ärhållit detta kräk ifrån en dess vän på S. Eustache, där detta är hemma" (Sparrman, 1784) [= Received from Israel Acrelius in Philadelphia who recieved this species from a friend in Sint Eustatius, where this species lives.] rough translation /EIÅ, 2008
