Object remarks: Swartz' catalogue (1809-1812) includes only three dry snakes, which all can be excluded. Fries or Sundewall lists it 1840. So, it is probably accessed during the period 1812-1839. It is a Colubridae or Elapidae, ventral scales 162, might have been greenish in life. Possible collectors includes Hedenborg (NE Africa). Object remarks: No labels or markings. This object may match # 5 in the old card catalogue: "Brasilien. Coll. Ante 1839. Pullus (Till skelettet. ur sprit 1852)". Intermediate between skin and mount. Filled with mosses in tail and anterior part, but not in central body which is empty. Teeth present, maybe also skull. Swartz (1809) lists four dry specimens under Lacerta crocodylus with "MDhlm." in the margin why paralectotype status (lectotype in Uppsala) can't be entirely excluded. /EIÅ, 2008
