Object remarks: A single label (mixed yellow ink and pencil), probably by Sundevall's hand: "Amph Ex 47; vet. inc.; Monitor niloticum; dpl. -". Recognizible in Sundevall's catalogue, but not easily in Quensel's or Swartz'. May as well originate from Grill's or Paykull's collection or from Hedenborg's collecting in Africa in 1834. "Remiss Catalog för Amphibia" (probably by Sundevall's hand) states: "Af VetenskapsAcademien Äldre Samling af torra Amphibier (återfunna 1840)" ... "Monitor niloticum / stor uppstoppad låg på vind // 47 / duplett 1869." /EIÅ, 2008.
Locality remarks: Field station for specimens marked 'Ante 1839', 'Coll.Acad.', or 'Gamla samlingen'. Gamla samlingen usually apply to material antedating 1828 (cf. Andersson's Catalogue: Anguis fragilis: 9) /EIÅ, 2016
