SYNTYPE Vipera berus Linnaeus, 1758
Object remarks: Possible syntype for Coluber berus. Printed Drottningholm label: "Coluber" + (added with pen) "12" and "(o)". Probably refers to Coluber # 12 in Quensel's catalogue. Label from Andersson: "No 73 Svenska Ormar Vipera berus (L) Mus. Drottningholm Dock ej Linneansk typ. Ej beskr. af Linné" [=not a Linnaean type, not described by Linnaes]. /EIÅ, 2007.
Locality remarks: Collection built up from about 1743. Including material collected by Löfling, Hasselqvist, Brander etc. A minor part from the Seba Collection. Material described and published by Linnaeus in Museum Adolphi Fiderici in 1754 and 1764. Originally at Ulriksdals Castle. Transferred from Drottningholm Castle to KVA in 1801/EIÅ, 2015 And to NRM in 1841/1848 /EIÅ, 2023
