Locality: Originally in the collection of Albertus Seba. Included in the collection of King Adolph Fredric from 1752. Examined by C. Linnaeus 1752-1754.
Field Number: KVA-SEBA
Leg:
Date: before 1736
PARALECTOTYPE Acipenser sturio Linnaeus, 1758
Object remarks: Non of NRM 94 and 21711 seems to be included in any of the catalogues of Hornstedt, Quensel and Swartz. Both seems however to originate from the Drottningholm collection: NRM 94 being figured in Mus. Ad. Frid. I and NMR 21711 most probably figured in Seba III (the images known to be reflected). The specimen fits the figure in most respects, bent the same way and notches in fins roughly similar. Figure, however, slightly smaller than specimen and "thicker". /EIÅ, 2002. Specimen figured by Rondelet, 1555 designated lectotype and MNHN 1962-1295 as neotype by Kottelat & Freyhof in 2009. / EIÅ, 2016.
Locality remarks: Under this field number are specimens included of which there is a strong indication that they where included in the Seba collection eg. figured in Seba's "Thesaurus" (1734-1765).
